MAC Matchmaster Foundation - Launching on Sep 22nd

Hello everyone,

I have been looking for reviews on the NEW MAC Matchmaster foundation everywhere but could not find much.

So I decided to get it and try it myself.

I am usually NC42 in Mac studio fix and have decided to try the shades 5.0 and 7.0 from the Matchmaster foundation.

Both colors worked. Shade 5.0 will probably match my skin closer in the winter time but it blended well. The 7.0 looked really dark but when I applied it, it also worked giving me a slight bronzed look without making me look like I was wearing a fake mask. I was impressed with how well the 2 colors matched my skin despite their differences .

I have heard that the foundation wears better with the Prep and Prime setting powder ( the white powder that comes as a compact and loose powder). Nevertheless, I set it with any powder ( I have tried ; MAC careblend , the Makeup Forever matt powder and the HD setting powder) and all worked well.

The foundation did not move or look oily ( there was no shine and no cakeyness). It looked like skin and you do not need a lot to have a nice finish and cover any discoloration or scars.

The foundation wears sheer to medium coverage , but it can be buildable. Just put one layer , let it set and go over it with another layer. The foundation layers itself quite nicely without creating that thick mask.

MAC has used single numbers for the shades and I would suggest going to a MAC counter to get matched.

The color range suits a lot of skin tones. Some of you might have to mix but there are plenty to choose from ( what I am hoping from me picking the 5.0 an the 7.0 is that between them, I would have my winter and summer shade ).

I had ordered online and refered to Temptalia's website for the shade match:
  • 1.0 | NC15
  • 1.5 | NW15
  • 2.0 | NC20, NC25, NW20
  • 3.0 | NC30
  • 4.0 | NC 35, NC37, NW30
  • 5.0 | NC40, NC41, NC42
  • 6.0 | NW33, NW35, NC44
  • 7.0 | NW40, NW43, NC45
  • 7.5 | NC50, NC55
  • 8.0 | NW44, NW45
  • 8.5 | NW46, NW47
  • 9.0 | NW48
  • 9.5 | NW50, NW55
  • 10.0 | NW58, NW60

It also comes with a pump ( which I love) , and has a similar bottle and pump as MAC prolong wear foundation.

If you have tried it, let us know your opinion on this foundation.

Sally Hansen - quick and easy stick on design

I love how easy it is to apply and no drying time. Perfect for those who have no patience in creating designs by hand. Wish they came with more variety but cannot complain.

Also; beware that once the pack open, the nail sticker dries. So use it in one go!!!

Favorite designs are:
Lacy flower
Net
Denim

Watch out for : OPI Pirate of the Carribean Collection

Photo from: Shabbyblogs.com (Visit her for great tips on hair styles and beauty updates)

A beautiful collection with lovely pastel colours. I will make sure to pick them as soon as they are released at the end of April or May. These colors would look great on a tan complexion.

Red is no longer the only classic. For spring and summer; pastel pinks, purples and blue/greens are a must.
I do find that a lot of similar colors have come out in the past years and I hope to see a comparison .

Following this nail polish trend, I also predict the same colors for makeup.

For those that would not be comfortable using these colors plain, I would suggest darkening them with a brown , grey or black at the crease or lower lashes. It will give a more neutral look.

Pastel colors were a big trend in the 1960-69, with the big full lashes.
